Google has finally released the ability to now sync your Google Authenticator app with your Google Account! #aboutdamntime. This means if you upgrade your device or it's lost or stolen, you can easily sync your Google Auth setup to your new device.
To get started with Google Account synchronization, simply update the app and follow the prompts.

The app will automatically sync with your Google Account. You'll also see a new sync icon appear in the top right-hand corner of the app to indicate the sync status.
Transfer your Google Authenticator codes
- On your new device install the Google Authenticator app
- Open the Google Authenticator app on your device and sign in to your Google account.
- Your codes will automatically be restored on your new device
